What is the difference between MSE MSU and other higher education institutions of an economic profile?
The main difference from other economic educational institutions lies in the form and methods of teaching. Students will be in constant and direct contact with leading economists, often not just economists but founders of economic schools of thought. The program will go far beyond the boundaries of economic mainstream. The most important from of education in MSE MSU is the academic seminar, in which scholars will discuss acute issues of economic science and practice with their students. And, of course, MSE MSU study plan includes a lot of practice in Russia’s leading academic institutions.
Why are professors and lecturers from other Russian higher education institutions engaged in teaching at MSE MSU?
By definition the number of prominent economists is not big enough for every economic university to have many distinguishedAcademy Members and professors. There are always fewer professors than students. For professors lof MSE MSU level (RAS Members, Corresponding Members, Doctors of Science) to lecture in different universities is common practice. In addition, it is common practice internationally. That is why professors from leading European and American universities will be engaged in lecturing at MSE MSU.
Generally speaking, from the point of view of teaching it is important what lecturers, specifically, are concentrated in a given university and not whether these scholars and professors work elsewhere as well.
Is MSE MSU an educational institution to get a business education?
An MSE MSU graduate can, of course, successfully work in business, however, the education provided cannot be called business education. MSE MSU gives its students fundamental knowledge of economic theory, helps them develop a professional vision of how Russia’s economy is functioning. This is not an MBA program for business captains. Moscow School of Economics graduates are generals of economics.
In which countries is the MSE MSU diploma acknowledged?
It is acknowledged in the countries of the former USSR, of course. As for other countries, the acknowledgement of the MSE diploma is an issue to be solved individually. Though one thing is certain: the MSU diploma is a brand, a quality symbol acknowledged across the world.
In which fields is the knowledge given at MSE MSU in demand?
Specialists trained at MSE MSU will be in demand by federal and regional governmental bodies, research and the system of Russian higher education, large corporations.
Should the practice in RAS academic institutes be paid for separately?
The cost of practice in leading Russian academic institutes is included in tuition fee.
Tuition fee gives an advantage to those untalented but rich and not to the talented but with low income, doesn’t it?
The quantity of money in applicants’ pockets does not matter at all. If a person is talented and performs well at the entrance exams he is enrolled in the School and can get a preferential loan. Moscow School of Economics is interested in training representatives of different strata of society.

Does the applicant’s citizenship matter for admission?
ANY person possessing a Bachelor diploma (4 years of high school) or a specialist diploma (5 years of high school) who proves his knowledge in economics, mathematics and a command of English (acceptable level of understanding and speaking the language) at the entrance examinations, can enroll MSE MSU.
