Alexander D. Nekipelov

Graduated from the Economic Faculty of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1973.

He is now one of the world’s leading experts in comparative studying, the theory of functioning and management of economic systems. Academician Nekipelov is the author and co-author of more than 300 scientific publications and works. He is a Presidium member of the Russian President Council for Science, Technology and Education, a member of the Russian Government Council for Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness. He is also a head of scientific economic section of the Security Russia Council of Russian Federation. In mid-1990s he became one of the founders of Russian-American Group for Economic Transformation. The group played an important role in in elaboration of the alternative approaches towards systematic transformation of the national economies.

Ruslan S. Grinberg

One of the famous specialists in economic theory, market economy reforms in the former socialist countries as well as economic integration in the post-Soviet space. During the last years he has been successfully developing a brand new model of government behavior in modern market economy (R.S.Grinberg, A.Y. Rubinshtein «Economic sociodynamics « 2000, R.S.Grinderg «Rational government behavior», 2003). Ideas suggested in these works are recognized in the world scientific circles. Published over 200 works in Russia, Austria, Poland, USA and Germany.

Viktor B. Kuvaldin

Graduated from the MSU Faculty of History in 1965 . In 1969 defended his Ph.D. and in 1975 - his Doctor thesis on contemporary history of Europe and the USA.

Many years worked at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, USSR Academy of Sciences. Since 1992 has headed various analytical departments in the Gorbachev Foundation. Victor Kuvaldin is one of Russia’s most recognizable political analysts. He is an author of over 50 studies including two monographs. His sphere of interests ranges from current problems of international policy to the formation of a new political system in post-communist Russia. Recently has focused on globalization and the interconnection of its various aspects.
One of the founders of Club-93, Realists’ Club, Council for National Strategy,Unity for the Sake of Russia Foundation.

Dr. Kvint is one of the founders of the Theory of the Global Emerging Market, author of the first book on this subject -“The Global Emerging Market in Transition” (USA, Fordham University Press, 1999). From 1991-1992 and 1997-1998 Dr. Kvint was an Economic Advisor to the President of the United Nations' General Assembly and has been a member of the Bretton Woods Committee (Washington D.C.) since 1993. Dr. Kvint is an Honorary Doctor of the University of Bridgeport (USA), Vlora Technological University (Albania), Donetsk State Technological University (Ukraine), the North-Western Academy of Public Administration of the President of Russia. He also received the title of Honorary Professor of Economics from the Graduate Institute of Oil and Gas (Kazakhstan), St. Petersburg Academy of Management and Economics (Russia). He is an Honorary Fellow of the New England Center for International and Regional Studies (Connecticut, USA), President of the International Academy of Emerging Markets (USA), and a member of several other academies. Since 2005 Dr. Kvint has been a professor of Management Systems at LaSalle University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Kvint is the author of 23 books and more than 350 articles. Vsevolod K. Malinovskii

Areas of particular research interest: mathematical statistics of random processes, control models of insurance risk and models of solvency regulation.

Graduated in 1978 from Moscow State University and in 1981 from Graduate School at the Steklov Mathematical Institute. Got his Ph.D. from Steklov Mathematical Institute in 1983 and D.Sc. from Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Science in 2000. Professor (tenured Full Professor) since 2007.

In 1982-2006 - research (Leading research since 2000) fellow in the Department of Theory of Probability at the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Science. In 2006-2009 - Professor at the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation. Since 2009 - Chief research fellow in the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Russian Academy of Science.

Teaching experience in leading Russian universities since 1985. Since 2002 - Full Professor at the Gubkin State University of Oil and Gas; since 1999 - Full Professor at the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation (part time positions). Courses in mathematical methods of control in insurance, in actuarial mathematics, in actuarial aspects of the bonus-malus systems in automobile insurance, elementary courses in algebra, analysis, theory of probability and statistics.

M. Golovnin works at the Institute of Economy, Russian Academy of Sciences (before 2005 – Institute for International Economic and Political Studies, RAS) since 1996. From 2005 he is the deputy head of the Center for Problems of Globalization and Integration, Institute of Economy, RAS. Scopes of research interests are monetary and exchange rate policies, especially in CEE and CIS countries, financial globalization, monetary and financial integration.

M. Golovnin is the Associate Professor of Moscow School of Economics, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (General Economic Theory Department) since 2006. He teaches “Macroeconomics – I” course (lectures and seminars), “Introduction to Economic Theory” course (seminars, lecturer – Vice-President of RAS, academician A.Nekipelov), research seminars for graduate students.

Served in several positions on the staff of the US Congress, including Executive Director of the Joint Economic Committee. He directed the LBJ School’s PhD Program in public Policy from 1995 to 1997. Director of the University of Texas Inequality Project. Galbraith served as Chief Technical Adviser to the State Planning Commission, Peoples Republic of China, on a project on macroeconomic reform from 1994 to 1997.

Grzegorz W. Kolodko

Leading architect of Polish economic reforms and a world expert on transition and development policy. Director of the TIGER – Transformation, Integration and Globalization Economic Research and professor at the Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management in Warsaw (WSPiZ), Poland

He is a leading expert on globalization and postcommunist transition to a market economy. While Deputy Premier and the Minister of Finance (1994-97), he led Poland to the OECD. Holding the same position again in 2002-2003 he played a key role in Poland’s integration with the European Union. In 1989 he was participating in the historical Polish round table which led to the first post-communist government in East Central Europe. The United Nations, IMF and the World Bank have sought Professor Kolodko’s expertise. Visiting professor at Yale, UCLA and the University of Rochester, New York as researcher he delivered lectures at academic institutions and organizations worldwide.

Professor Kolodko is the author of 35 books and over 300 articles and research works, published in 23 languages around the globe, of which a majority is available in English. His book «From Shock to Therapy. The Political Economy of Postsocialist Transformation» was published in 2000.

He is a marathon runner and world traveler who has visited over 110 countries.


Jacques Sapir

Professor in economics at the EHESS in Paris, and Director of Department of the Post-Graduate Studies on Economic Development Comparative research

Director of the CEMI Research Center at EHESS and Head of Russian and CIS studies at IRSES-MSH in charge of Russian regional economics program. Got his Ph.D. in 1986 at the University of Paris-X Nanterre, where he was senior lecturer in economics, then associate professor from 1982 to 1990. Since 1991 he has been co-director of the French-Russian seminar on Money and Banking during the Transition.

Consultant for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Defense. Associate professor and member of the scientific council of Higher School of Economics (Moscow). Since 1999 scientific adviser to the TACIS-UEPLAC program in Ukraine.


Professor Jan Aart Scholte

Executive Director of the CSGR, Professor of the Department of Politics and International studies

Worked in a number of Universities: Sussex, Brighton and the Institute of Social Studies (The Hague). Professor at Warwick University since 1999. Author of fundamental works on globalization: «Critical introduction», «Civil society and global democracy» and «International relations of Social Change». He is also an editor of «Civil society and global finance» journal, a co-publisher of the Encyclopedia of Globalization and the journal «Global management». Dean Fantazzini

Graduated with honours from the Department of Economics at the University of Bologna (Italy) in 1999. He obtained the Master in Financial and Insurance Investments at the Department of Statistics - University of Bologna (Italy) in 2000 and he was awarded the prize for best master thesis. He worked for the Research Department of Banca Intesa (the biggest Italian bank) in 2000 and 2001. He took his PhD in Economics in 2006 with the dissertation “Theory and Applications of Copulas in Finance”, at the Department of Economics and Quantitative Methods, University of Pavia (Italy). His Ph.D dissertation was nominated best Italian Ph.D. dissertation of the winter session for the academic year 2004/2005, and candidate for the Prize awarded to the best Italian Ph.D dissertation in Economics. He was research fellow at the Chair for Economics and Econometrics, University of Konstanz (Germany) and at the Department of Statistics and Applied Economics, University of Pavia (Italy). Specialist in the time series analysis, financial econometrics, multivariate dependence in finance and economics. The author has to his credit more than 20 publications, including three monographs: “Leaves and Cigarettes: Modelling the Tobacco Industry”, “Econometric Methods for Finance and Economics (Step by Step Applications with EVIEWS Software)” and “Financial Markets Microstructure and High Frequency Data: Theoretical issues, Stylized Facts and Econometric Tools”. Besides participating in a number of seminars and conferences, he was commissioned a job by the European Commission and the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, to develop an econometric model for the European and Italian tobacco industry.
